Eleanor has been a treasured part of our club since 2022, when creative member Jennifer Noonan first designed and decorated her for our inaugural December Winter Wonderland, which featured ten beautifully adorned trees throughout the house.
With the introduction of our new online membership platform, we’ve proudly promoted Eleanor to Welcoming Committee Co-Chair, complete with a digital avatar used across our communications.
Her old-fashioned, regal look immediately reminded us of Eleanor Roosevelt—fitting, since our club library holds a historic photo of Mrs. Roosevelt visiting Red Bank in 1939 as she and President Roosevelt welcomed King George VI and Queen Elizabeth at the train station.
Since then, Eleanor has taken up permanent residence in the alcove at our club entrance, where she greets members and guests alike. Over the years, she has become known for her charming wardrobe changes, dressed to match seasons, holidays, and special events.

Eleanor, An Inspiration
This is a famous quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: “You must do the things you think you cannot do.” It is deeply inspirational because it serves as a powerful call to courage, emphasizing that the way to achieve personal growth is by deliberately facing your fears and overcoming self-imposed limitations.
