A Night of Blues with Slim & the South Street Hustle
The historic Reckless Estate came alive with the sounds of blues during the latest Reckless Steamy Nights concert, presented in partnership with the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJBF).
Guests gathered at the Woman’s Club of Red Bank for an evening of soulful music featuring Derek “Slim” Matteson and The South Street Hustle, a talented blues band bringing their own energy and style to the stage.
Originally from Philadelphia, Derek “Slim” Matteson is a passionate harmonica player, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter whose music reflects the rich traditions of blues while adding his own modern touch. Along with Zack Lees on guitar, Jimmy Prichard on bass, and Mark Shewchuk on drums, The South Street Hustle delivered an unforgettable performance filled with powerful vocals, expressive solos, and the unmistakable spirit of the blues.
The evening featured a mix of classic blues influences, original songs, and audience favorites that had guests tapping their toes, dancing, and enjoying the welcoming atmosphere that makes Reckless Steamy Nights such a special tradition.
As a proud community partner, the Woman’s Club of Red Bank is grateful to the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation for bringing live music and cultural experiences to the historic Reckless Estate. Each month, JSJBF hosts Reckless Steamy Nights on the last Friday evening of the month, creating a space where music lovers, members, and neighbors can come together.
Join us at the next Reckless Steamy Nights concert and experience live music, community connection, and the unique charm of the Woman’s Club of Red Bank.
