A Spectacular Weekend of Jazz & Blues in Red Bank

The Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJBF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and perpetuating jazz and blues in our community. They are also a proud community partner of the Womans Club of Red Bank. We were thrilled that they would host two music events this past weekend, bringing world-class talent and local history right to our clubhouse doors.

Acoustic Magic with the Matt and Eryn O’Ree Duo

The weekend kicked off with the JSJBF’s monthly concert the Reckless Steamy Nights series, featuring the “First Couple of the Jersey Shore Music Scene,” Matt and Eryn O’Ree. Fresh off their latest tour, the duo brought an incredible sense of intimacy to the room.

Armed only with acoustic guitars, they shared the heartfelt stories behind their music—from Matt’s moving tribute to his mentor, Bernie Brausewetter, to the playful “marriage counseling” found in their original lyrics. From soulful covers like “Stand by Me” to a haunting rendition of Stevie Nicks’ “Gold Dust Woman,” it was a masterclass in blues that reminded us why these two are local icons.

Sunday Afternoon Art and Soul with Sonny Kenn

The music didn’t stop there. On Sunday, the JSJBF returned for a very special Sonny Kenn Art & Music showcase.

Sonny Kenn, a true staple of the Jersey Shore music landscape, brought a unique flair to the afternoon, blending his legendary guitar work with a celebration of visual art. It was the perfect bookend to a weekend dedicated to the creative spirit of our community. Seeing the room filled with both the sounds of the blues and local artistry truly highlights the power of our partnership with the JSJBF.

Supporting the Arts in Our Community

Events like these are at the heart of our mission—preserving our historic space while providing a vibrant home for the arts. We are proud to collaborate with the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation to bring this level of talent to Red Bank. Whether you joined us for the fiery acoustic sets on Friday or the artistic deep dive on Sunday, thank you for supporting live music and our local non-profits!
