Mermaid Magic at the Woman’s Club!

author, artist, and mermaid - Mermaid Meetup

Last Sunday, the Woman’s Club of Red Bank was transformed into an underwater wonderland for the Mermaid Meetup. This enchanting event brought together young and old to celebrate the magic of mermaids and meet the author of the captivating children’s book, “Miranda and the Mermaid.”

Families flocked to the Reckless Pen & Palette (The Woman’s Club AKA The Reckless Estate) to immerse themselves in the mermaid-themed atmosphere. Children had the opportunity to color, while adults browsed the artwork adorning the walls. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the chance to meet Yama, the live mermaid, who gracefully glided through the room, captivating the hearts of all who encountered her.

Author Lisa Loeb and illustrator Johanna Erickson were also in attendance, signing copies of their beloved book. Children eagerly lined up to receive their personalized copies and pose for memorable photos with the enchanting mermaid.

The Mermaid Meetup was a truly magical experience that left everyone feeling inspired and enchanted. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community, celebrate creativity, and embrace the wonder of the ocean and its mythical creatures.
