Winter Wellness & The Beauty of Changing One Thing
The theme of the February 22nd Womans Club quarterly event was Winter Wellness with an emphasis on “The Beauty of Changing One Thing“. Candice Snyder and Joanne Farina hosted the event for our club and gathered a group of our members from the health and wellness industry. They created an extraordinary free event. Unfortunately, an uncommon February rainstorm kept most of our members at home – but fortunately, we had a nice turnout of non-members!
Megan Callus of Boundless Breath
Megan started us off with 3 calming breathing techniques. Did you know you might need to learn how to breathe? That mouth breathing can contribute to anxiety, high blood pressure, bad breath, snoring, and sleep apnea? Megan offers virtual breathwork programs. Her favorite quote sums it up –
“Improper breathing is a common cause of ill health. If I had to limit my advice on healthier living to just one tip, it would be simply to learn how to breathe correctly. There is no single more powerful -or more simple- daily practice to further your health and well being than breathwork.” — Andrew Weil”

Nicole Lerario of Full CUP Living
Nicole took us through an amazingly efficient 15-Minute Manifestation Ritual! During the fifteen minutes we moved, focused on an attitude of gratitude, and meditated.
We also had an opportunity to taste Nicole’s unique blend of teas. Her tea blends can be purchased online.
Nicole is a Fulfillment Coach for individuals and businesses. She is a coach, speaker, and self-care educator. www.FullCupLiving.com
Candice Snyder of Monat (Modern Nature)
Monat specializes in hair, skin, and wellness products. Candice had a table with some wellness products that we could try. She shared apple cider vinegar gummies, collagen drinks, and Vegan Protein (a 100% plant-based performance blend).
Of course, she also shared some of Monat’s famous hair care products. I had had a bad hair day, and she shared products to “Reboot” my hair.
She tried to help us figure out what the one thing we wanted to do or change. And she reminded us that self-care should also be considered part of your wellness routine.

Joanne Farina
Joanne usually helps businesses operate efficiently and increase profitability with HR services, but she is also a certified yoga instructor. Joanne has taught yoga classes at the Womans Club in the past but on this night she taught us some awesome chair yoga moves – something that everyone can easily incorporate into a sedentary, computer-based lifestyle. Some moves activated a great stretch whereas others provided a more meditative flow
Donna Fluhr
Our guest speaker was Donna Fluhr from Integrated Care Concepts and Consultation, New Jersey’s mind/body service provider. I’m not sure how to summarize what she did for us, but it was amazing – the focus was on the nervous system sympathetic and parasympathetic … and how to shift through triggers, dorsal, and ventral.
They offer programs for adults and adolescents – more information on www.IntegratedCareConcepts.com
