Mardi Gras Meets Women’s History Month!

Tuesday March 4th meeting

Last night, March 4th, the Woman’s Club of Red Bank transformed 164 Broad Street into a vibrant celebration, seamlessly blending the festive spirit of Mardi Gras with the powerful message of Women’s History Month. It was an evening filled with laughter, connection, and a whole lot of sparkle!

We invited everyone to “Laissez les bon temps rouler!” and roll they did! The room was a kaleidoscope of purple, green, and especially gold, as members embraced the Mardi Gras spirit with enthusiasm. From shimmering dresses to dazzling accessories, the festive attire truly set the stage for a memorable night.

Upon arrival, everyone was greeted with the iconic Mardi Gras beads, instantly adding to the celebratory atmosphere. A highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the fabulous photo frame, complete with golden Mardi Gras masks. It was wonderful to see so many members capturing the joy of the moment!

Can you guess our Masked Members?

Of course, no Mardi Gras celebration is complete without delicious treats, and we certainly delivered! The King Cake was a crowd-pleaser, adding a sweet touch to the evening. We also enjoyed refreshing beverages and delightful snacks, fostering a warm and welcoming environment for everyone to connect. The Hurricane drinks were a big hit … you can expect to try them again at our June Porch Party!

The evening wasn’t just about fun and festivities, though. It was also a celebration of the incredible women who have shaped our history and continue to inspire us today. To put our knowledge to the test, we engaged in a lively round of Women’s History Trivia, blending questions about iconic figures from the past with those celebrating impactful women of the present day. We divided into three spirited teams, each vying for the coveted prize: a free drink at our upcoming White Hot Soirée event this August, likely to be held at the beautiful Molly Pitcher Inn once again. The competition was fierce, but in the end, one team emerged victorious, proving their prowess in all things women-related! Adding to the excitement, we also awarded a special charm, engraved with our “Reckless” motto—the powerful quote from historian Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, “Well-behaved women rarely make history.” This meaningful prize was won by the remarkable Joyce Diamond, a cherished member who also generously hosts tango lessons and tango socials at our Woman’s Club three times a month!

The energy in the room was palpable, a testament to the strong sense of community that defines the Woman’s Club of Red Bank. We shared stories, forged new connections, and reaffirmed our commitment to empowering women in our community.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us for this special evening. It was a perfect blend of celebration and inspiration, reminding us of the power of women coming together. And a special thanks to Candice and The Candice Crew for organizing this meeting/event.
