Reckless Steamy Nights Featuring Sandy Sasso

1/23/2026 Sandy Sasso - Reckless Steamy Nights concert

On the frigid winter evening of January 23, the Woman’s Club of Red Bank felt warm and alive as the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation (JSJBF) presented another unforgettable Reckless Steamy Nights concert. Hosted in the Club’s historic 1874 clubhouse—originally the home of Senator Anthony Reckless, whose name lives on in the series—the night blended warmth, music, and storytelling into a truly special experience.

Vocalist Sandy Sasso, a longtime member of JSJBF, delivered a captivating performance that spanned decades of beloved music, from the Great American Songbook to later twentieth-century classics. Joined by Chris Simonini on piano and Behn Gillece on vibes, the trio guided the audience through a rich musical journey filled with swing, sophistication, and soul.

Instrumental highlights set the tone early, with Simonini and Gillece’s seamless interplay creating a perfect foundation for Sasso’s expressive vocals. Throughout the evening, Sandy wove personal stories into the set, adding depth and charm to each song—from jazz standards and Tin Pan Alley favorites to thoughtful reinterpretations of well-known pop classics.

The second set continued the momentum, mixing lush ballads, playful swing, and surprising selections that showcased the trio’s versatility and deep musical connection. The audience was treated not only to exceptional musicianship, but also to the sense of intimacy that defines live jazz at its best.

The Woman’s Club of Red Bank is proud to have the Jersey Shore Jazz & Blues Foundation as a Community Partner, welcoming these monthly concerts into a space where history, culture, and community intersect. Reckless Steamy Nights honors both the legacy of the Club’s original owner and the enduring power of live local music—bringing people together, one unforgettable night at a time.
