Honoring Remarkable Women in Our Community

On Saturday, October 29th, the Women’s Club of Red Bank held its annual fundraising breakfast, aptly titled “Crowning Women Warriors.” This year’s event paid tribute to local women who have made a profound impact in our community while raising vital funds for the preservation of our historic clubhouse, The Reckless Estate.

A Meaningful Celebration During National Women’s Business Week

The breakfast coincided with the conclusion of National Women’s Business Week, providing a perfect backdrop for powerful networking among like-minded individuals. As attendees arrived, many paused to capture the moment in front of a step-and-repeat banner showcasing the logos of our generous sponsors and prize donors.

Culinary Delights and Inspiring Voices

Guests enjoyed a delicious breakfast prepared by Christina Hardman-O’Neal, our club president and talented estate planning attorney. Her culinary skills were a highlight of the morning!

Phillis DiNardi

One of the most moving moments was the recognition of Phyllis DiNardi as a Woman Warrior. Phyllis has fostered 49 children and founded the nonprofit organization We Are Loved, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to supporting foster children.

We Are Loved (www.WeAreLoved.org) is a New Jersey-based non-profit organization dedicated to empowering foster youth and supporting foster families. Through support groups, workshops, and community building, they provide a network of love and resources for those involved in the foster care system.

An Inspiring Panel of Change-Makers

Joanne Farina, SHRM-CP, moderated an insightful panel discussion featuring extraordinary women who shared their inspiring stories:

  • Major General Lisa J. Hou, D.O.: A pioneering physician and Major General, Lisa has shattered barriers in both the medical and military fields, paving the way for future generations of women leaders. Her journey exemplifies unwavering dedication, strong leadership, and remarkable resilience. Lisa shared powerful messages about the importance of mentorship and the responsibility of lifting others as you rise. She drew inspiration from the quote, “If you weren’t invited to the table, bring a folding chair,” emphasizing her belief in creating opportunities not just for herself but for others as well. Lisa’s ability to forge her own paths and invite others to join her at the table serves as a profound reminder of the impact one can have when they take initiative and embrace their leadership potential.

  • Meagan Solomon: As a passionate advocate for education and patriotism, Meagan founded Sunflowers for Soldiers. Sunflowers for Soldiers is a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and supporting United States soldiers, veterans, and their families. Through community events, partnerships, educational programs, and fundraising, they aim to foster a sense of community and appreciation for those who have served their country. Their efforts help to make a positive impact on the lives of military personnel and their loved ones. In addition to her advocacy work, Meagan shares her love of country through song, performing at senior homes and spreading patriotic spirit through her music.

  • Adria Firestone: An award-winning opera singer, life coach, and author, Adria captivated attendees with a spontaneous song, showcasing her vibrant spirit and passion for performance. Following a successful career in opera, she embraced the challenge of reinventing herself, transitioning into life coaching to empower others on their personal journeys. Adria’s ability to blend her artistic talents with her coaching expertise reflects her commitment to inspiring and uplifting those around her, making her presence at the event truly unforgettable.

  • Jessica Solomon: At just 22 years old, Jessica is the youngest director of the Monmouth County Jewish Heritage Museum. She has facilitated numerous educational experiences that bring our local history to life, engaging the community in profound ways. Jessica surprised us all with her ability to weave together transparent sharing, heartfelt emotion, and humor, making her presentation truly memorable.
